Modelling of Gas Flow in Combustion Engine
Original language description
The contribution introduces the mathematical model of flow in combustion engine during the compression phase. The model is based on mixed-hybrid formulation of finite element method applied on the compressible continuity and the Navier-Stokes equations. The main needed property of the model is to preserve the mass balance through space and time, because the mass transport modelling for further complete modelling of expansion phase is applied on the results of the flow model. The method, moving mesh problems, and results of first computations on non-calibrated model will be shown.
