Original language description
Distributed delays are present in mathematical models of many important industrial processes and plants.heir presence makes many things more difficult compared with lumped delay case.They cannot be directly simulated using standard simulation software and many controller analysis and synthesis methods are applicable to lumped delay systems only.This paper proposes a method that allows to circumvent these problems and to transform a relatively general class of distributed delay systems into lumped delaysystems with identical input output behaviour.The most substantial part of this paper is focused on the problem of transforming a single distributed delay into equivalent lumped delay system.The class of transformable systems is characterized and the transformation procedure is described in detail.
