Yarn shape description by the use of discrete Fourier transform.
Original language description
New approaches of structure description allow its better understanding and helps in applications. Because of its quasi-periodicity, yarn neutral axis can be presented also in wavelength domain. In general, both the Fourier series and discrete Fourier trHowever, the classical analogue Fourier series has severe limitations, it can be applied to narrow class of ideal yarns. The DFT has no limitations, can be used to any kind of data and the deviation from analogue results for ideal yarns is negligible if Auser-friendly computer system utilising DFT was realised in beta version. It allows simple and fast visualisation of spectra of very different data types that describe the neutral axis. At its output there are practically available all the detailed inf
