Open Control System for Industrial Robot
Original language description
The article describes the application of motion control unit Siemens SIMOTION D435 as the control unit for an industrial robot. It?s a common industrial robot KUKA VK10 with six degrees of freedom, whose original control system doesn?t allow the application of advanced controlling algorithms, which needs an interaction with the lower structures of the control system. Because of that it was decided that the current control system will be substitute by the motion control system SIMOTION and the power section by the components of servodrive system Siemens SINAMICS S120. These components support the possibility to influence control structures of servodrives and thereby apply and verify new algorithms for calculating the optimal trajectories etc.
