    Overview of thyristor module parameters for fast static VAr compensation available on the market

  • Original language description

    The main aim of this overview is to explore the basic physical and design principles of power switch design according to the parameters of the sold devices. The study is focused only on thyristor switching modules designed for static power factor compensators. For the study, data were obtained from 161 devices from freely available sources on the Internet and from corporate promotional materials. Comparison of thyristor off-state voltage, control voltage, temperature range, power losses, weight and other parameters are presented. The physical basis of most parameters across different manufacturers is obvious.
