Why so many information and communication technology projects have overrun budget and are delayed? The aim of this article is to find the critical success factors of these projects which can help to avoid these failures. Therefore it has been realized the research in different organizations. Research was especially focused on approaches to implementation, methods and project management processes in different types of organizations. It has been identificated five main critical success factors influencingthe adoption of ICT (with service-oriented perspective). These factors are business and information strategy, people, technology and processes in organizations. It means that it is necessary to pay attention to sufficient technology planning, sufficientexpertise of users and project teams, effective project governance, and organizational alignment.
