Robotic process automation in the Czech financial sector
Original language description
The robotic process automation (RPA) is relatively scarcely covered as a topic in academic resources despite the fact that it is the part of the current technological revolution driven by intelligent technologies. The RPA applications are usually adopted along with machine learning innovations. The RPA brings automation to processes previously done by humans and changes also conditions on the labor market. Generally, the financial sector has great potential for the application of the RPA. Processes in this sector are in high-volumes, standardized or strongly rule-based and having sufficient maturity. Financial companies have to deal with the pressure on integration and not only internal but external (3rd parties access) as well. Results suggest that is very important the cooperation between the IT department and other business units. A new mindset of employees should be achieved before the RPA introduction. The RPA is suitable for the financial sector in the Czech Republic. The level of business process integration is mostly high or highest in the area of inventory, finances, customer relationship management, logistics and operations in the banking sector, insurance, other financial services, and the lowest level of business process integration is in the field of auxiliary financial services. Qualitative aspects of RPA in the Czech financial sector seem to be the same as described in previous researches on this topic but there might be the quantitative difference and further research should be done.
