This paper deals with a procedure of recognition of defects occurred in woven fabric based on the statistical approach. This approach is based on periodicity of a textured image in horizontal and vertical direction. These periodicities correspond to periodicity of second-order grey level statistic features extracted from the grey level co-occurrence matrix. The results show that the statistical approach is suitable for detection of directional defects or changes of regular structure in analysed fabrics.

Článek se zabývá procedurou rozpoznání defektů vyskytujících se ve tkanině na základě statistického přístupu. Tento přístup je založen na periodicitě texturních obrazů tkaniny v horizontálním a vertikálním směru. Tyto periodicity korespondují s charakteristiky druhého řádu, které jsou získané z matice plošných šedotónových závislostí. Výsledky ukazují, že statistický přístup je vhodný pro detekci směrových defektů nebo změny pravidelné struktury v analyzovaných tkaninách.
