The Effect of Moisture on Water Vapour Permeability of Semi-permeable Fabrics
Original language description
From the previous work of the authors follow, that cooling heat flow passing through a skin simulator in case the skin model is covered by a wet fabric, slowly increases with the fabric moisture content[1]. In this work, the ratio between the cooling heat flow given by moisture evaporation from the simulated skin and the cooling heat flow caused by moisture evaporation form the fabric surface was first determined. It was found, that semipermeable fabric in wet state (due to the reduced efficiency of therepellent treatment) became quite impermeable for water vapour, and that most of the cooling heat flow results from the moisture evaporation from the wet fabric surface.
