The Possibility of Textile Dyeing with Anthocyanins
Original language description
It was verified the possibility of dyeing textiles by the anthocyanins contained in the juices of fruits of elderberry, blueberries and red cabbage and by the aqueous extract of blue grape skins. It was found some content of anthocyanins in these dye baths which ranged from 0,21 to 7,3 g anthocyanins / liter. The dyed fabrics showed acceptable stability only by washing of wool but on the other hand in all samples was found poor fastness to light depending on the colour saturation. In order to use agricultural wastes as a source of anthocyanins there is needed a further research to improve the fastness.
