Analysis and testing of mechanical properties of polyurethane foam and materials for nonpolyurethabe car seat cushion
Original language description
Currently, the biggest trend of car seats producers is to find solutions to improve the existing parameters of safety and seating quality at a lower cost, weight, height, energy and environmental demands. With regards to the complexity of the car seat properties, the improvement can be achieved through changes of the seat frame or the seat cushions material replacement of comfort layer which is made of soft viscoelastic polyurethane foam. By a replacing the polyurethane foam cushion can be optimize theweight, height, energy efficiency and cost of the seat. The compensation would be ideally producible with low energy requirements. The final material should have appropriate density and the suitable mechanical, chemical and physical properties. The experimental quasi-static compression loading of PU foam samples and samples of chosen nonpolyurethane materials by the special shaped bodies may be used for theoretical analysis of acting stress but also for simulation by of FEM.
