    Coaxial electrospinning of biopolymers for human use

    Coaxial electrospinning is special technology for production core/shell nanofibers. This technology allows spun materials, which are un-spinnable with classical electrospinning process. It is possible with un-spinnable material in core of bi-component system. In this work, coaxial electrospinning of biopolymers will be described. Biopolymers are nature materials, which are biodegradable, biocompatible and non-toxic. These materials have a high potential to be utilized in medicine for human use. They canbe applied for example in tissue engineering, as dressing for a medical covering for a wound or as drug delivery system. In this work, a special method productivity enhancement of co-axial nanofibers is described and compared with classical needle coaxial electrospinning. The principle of this technology is founded on the electrospinning from a free liquid surface of a thin polymeric two-layer. A unique spinneret, designed by us, is so-called here as ?weir spinner?.
