In this article four different methods (thermo camera, attached thermocouple, inserted thermocouple and thermal paper) are used to measure the sewing needle temperature of lock stich machine. Industrial lock stitch machine from BROTHER Company and GROZBECKERT needles were used for experiment. The experiments were done from 1000rpm to 4700rpm and for a maximum time of 60seconds.2/1twill denim fabric with 257gsm is used for all the experiment. The research is useful in predicting the real temperature of needle at different speed of sewing and to compare each method. Inserted thermocouple method showed the minimum standard deviation and results are highly reproducible. Results of all the techniques are compared at different speeds of sewing speed and willbe very beneficial for the researchers who have made theoretical model of sewing needle temperature and need to verify it with experimental results.
