    Increasing concern for the environment has stimulated interest in the research and development of self reinforced polymer composite materials. The preparation, properties and applications of self-reinforced polymeric materials (SRPMs), represents an emerging family of composite materials. These materials are an emerging class of composite materials with mechanical properties comparable to heterogeneous composites. Self reinforced composites developer from polypropylene micropowder used as matrix and 100% polypropylene fiber as reinforcement used to develop self reinforced polypropylene composites by layer stacking and two stage consolidation and compaction method. The SRPMs are fully recyclable and have specific economic and environmental benefits. The small melting temperature difference between the fiber and the matrix poses a great challenge in the fabrication of SRPMs.
