Optimization of Monitoring of Chenille Yarn using Image Analysis
Original language description
Chenille yarn belongs among fancy yarns, which has a very soft, silky feel and gloss appearance. In the production of yarn it can be met set of different defects which currently affect the overall appearance of the yarn. In this paper it is shown the possibility of using Shewhart control charts for detecting defects and quality control of chenille yarns. At the same time the possibility of optimization of monitoring of defects on chenille yarn is discussed. The yarn was scanned using image analysis forpurposes of design optimization defect detection. It was determined that for modelling Poisson and exponential distributions can be used. There is provided a method of optimizing of monitoring of defects so that it is not necessary to control the entireyarn produced, but only a section at a particular time. The two chenille yarns were used for the proposal of optimization where quality of yarn reflected the quality of cutting knife during time.
