Physiological Comfort in Garments for Sport Activities and its Testing
Original language description
Clothing is a protective system which absorbs heat and moisture. Physiological properties of functional clothing are important because they significantly influence both the wearer's well-being and also professional performance of sportsmen, soldiers, policemen, etc. Penetration of heat and moisture is influenced by the design and the cut of the item of clothing, the textile material used and the parameters of the clothing layer. The main focus of the research project was to develop a laboratory test method using simulated exercising-load of a human subject and monitoring the temperature and moisture in the limiting layer of clothing under defined climatic conditions. Such tests are useful for predicting textile "performance" under prolonged loadingconditions. The overall evaluation of the physiological comfort of the test users dressed in the T-shirts used in the experiment has been concluded on the basis of values obtained from the textile material analysis and the test results fr
