Designing Method for 3D Modelling for Garment Compression Values of Elastic Fabric Extension
Original language description
This research article has been designing a method for the prediction of clothing pressure based on the result from standard textile tension test ASTM D 4964–96 of elastic knitted fabric before comparing the values of pressure simulated by Ansys R16.2 software with compression tester PicoPress results and Laplace law results. The 3D simulation by Ansys R16.2 was considered to be satisfactory for this designing method. However, it was quite complicated to apply the data and the duration to evaluate and find out the pressure value was also too lengthy. The accuracy of the value of pressure garment calculated by Laplace law formula in method 3 may not be as precise as numerical simulation in method 1, but Laplace law method is considered simple enough for implementation, having low cost and high popularization value. As a result, this research will eventually help guide the prediction of the pressure values of tight fitting garment for complex human female body in the future.
