Environmental indicator as a part of the golden standard of quality of life
Original language description
Quality of life is one of the current concepts, striving to seize and explain the complexity of the current social and economic reality. It is associated with the notion of good life. An important part of this concept is measuring. The number of used indicators in individual measurements reaches tens, which reduces the possibility of mutual comparison of the outputs. One of the possible solutions of this situation is the proposal of the golden standard of quality of life meeting the requirement of the smallest possible number of indicators with the highest possible information value. The ten indicators of the golden standard include also the indicator of environmental quality expressed in terms of the volume of emissions. Indicator values are calculated for the districts of the Czech Republic. The result of the quantification is a map of spatial differentiation of the environment in the land and a matrix of correlations between the indicators of the golden standard and the resulting Quality of Life Index.
