Arthur Koestler‘s Multilingualism: Biography and Authorship
Original language description
This chapter discusses the languages Arthur Koestler used as a person and as an author. As far as spoken languages are concerned, it corrects the myth of his broken Hebrew and presents evidence about his Hungarian skills not accessible in English and German sources. In addition, it reassesses Koestler‘s contributions to German and Hungarian literature, and calls attention to his little-known French story, „Les temps héroïques.”
