Original language description
Trial weld joints made of wrought and cast P91 steel were prepared using the GTAW and SMAW method. Thirty six cross-weld specimens underwent creep testing at a temperature range from 525°C to 625°C. Creep strengths of both weld joints were sufficient incomparison to those of base materials up to the temperature of 575°C. Microstructural study of individual zones of weldments was carried out and occurrence of type IV or II cracks was elucidated on the base of change in precipitation reactions in the base material, the heat affected zone and the weld metal.
