A recurring problem concerning marketing operatives at all levels is a forecast of the demand for new products. This article discusses a technique - Bayesian method, in which the forecast of such products can be calculated. This technique is used to examine the forecast accuracy of lightning current arristers during the year 2004.

Článek se věnuje konstrukci prognóz Bayesovým přístupem a zároveň vyhodnocuje přesnost těchto prognóz na praktickém příkladě poptávky po systémech na přepěťové ochrany v r. 2004. Opakující úlohou managementu marketingu na všech řídicích úrovních je získání prognóz poptávky po produktech.
