The presented paper presents a developed program for image processing of medical ultrasound images based on thresholding in ROI of appropriate tissue. The algorithm has been developed for B-MODE ultrasound images in grayscale which is basic in ultrasoundimaging. The algorithm was checked in neurosonology field, for parkinsonic features of hyperechogenity in substantia nigra. The first phase is focused on pre-processing and ROI selection and automatic checking input quality of images based on global andaverage intensity. The core is based on computing of an area of hyperechogenic ROI. This method is useful to evaluation pathology and physiology according to descending area in accordance with increasing threshold. Actually is also checked using for raphe nuclei area.
