Statistical analysis of ROI-based measurement of echogenicity in B-MODE transcranial images for different neurodegenerative diseases

Result description

This paper presents a designed algorithms to measurement of echogenic area in B- MODE ultrasound transcranial images. Is focused on results of statistical analysis for measurement of substantia nigra and raphe nuclei structures. Achieved results shows that the developed algorithm is usable in medical practice and due to B-MODE principle can be used not only for transcranial images. We verified that correlation between observer is r> 0.8 and between different ultrasound machines is r> 0.85. Also we proved the reproducibility with more than 300 images of pathological and physiological patients. All achieved results were also consulted and verified by an erudite neurosonologist.
