B-mode Assist System Tool - Principles and User's Guide
Original language description
This paper introduces a software tool B-MODE Assist System to analysis and evaluation of digital ultrasound images. It is focused on description of GUI of the application which has been implemented as stand-alone Java-based software in MATLAB. This software is a useful tool in medical practice based on analysis of a predefined ROI. The software has been tested and verified for analysis of Parkinson´s Disease diagnostics on the basis of echogenicity evaluation of the substantia nigra. The software is implemented to universal using not only in parkinsonic features evaluation. Principle which is used can be used generally for another ultrasound B-images in gray-scale. Core of the principle is based on binary thresholding in selected ROI to evaluate echogenicity level.
