The Society in the Era of the Membership in the EU on the Example of a Czech-Polish Cross-border Area
Original language description
The article consists of a concise viewpoint of the process of changes in cross-border areas, in particular a Czech-Polish one, which took place after the year 1989. The basis was provided by partial results of the evaluation of a questionnaire inquiry, which took place in 2010 within a selected sample of citizens on both sides of the border of the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Opole Duchy. These changes have been influenced not only by the political and economic restructuring of individual post-socialist countries but also by the influx of financial resources from the structural funds in the so called preaccession period of applying for the membership in the European structures and later on after our accession into the EU in 2004.
