THE BURNOUT SYNDROME OF NURSES IN SELECTED DEPARTMENT
Original language description
In the article, the author discusses burnout syndrome. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data. The standardized MBI (Maslach Burnout Inventory) was distributed to respondents, comprising 22 items focusing on three domains of burnout. The first domain is emotional exhaustion, the second domain is depersonalization and the third domain is personal accomplishment. The authors discovered that there was an increase in the level of burnout related to the length of practice, especially in nurses withover 20 years of clinical working experience (in all three domains - emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment). This finding is further attested by simultaneous increase in the moderate level of burnout along with high level of burnout in nurses with a clinical working experience over 20 years.
