Overview of the Exchange Rate Development in the Visegrad Countries
Original language description
This paper analyses the exchange rate development in the Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia) during the period July 1998 - June 2006. Using daily data of the national currencies exchange rates vis-a-vis euro and applying elementary statistical tools, the paper aims to reveal similarities in the exchange rate developments in these neighboring countries. The results suggest that the relative homogeneity of the countries analyzed has not been considerably reflected in the exchange rate development.

Czech description
S využitím elementárních statistických nástrojů příspěvek popisuje vývoj devizových kurzů v zemích Visegrádské skupiny v období červenec 1998 - červen 2006. Provedený výzkum naznačil, že ekonomická podobnost zemí se do kurzového vývoje nepromítá a byly odhaleny pouze zanedbatelné společné rysy vývoje.
