Credit Supply and its Determinants in the Czech Republic
Original language description
Loans are important source of financing, especially for small and medium size entrepreneurs. The volume and evolution of supply of loans is the key factor of the availability of loans for borrowers. The aim of this paper is to carry out an econometric investigation of supply of loans to private sector in the Czech Republic. The analysis is based on quarterly data covered the period from the first quarter of 1994 to the second quarter of 2005. Summarizing all results, the disequilibrium model successfully applied in many previous studies seems to be useless for estimation of the credit volume in the environment of the Czech Republic. Consequently, we are not able to provide any conclusion about important factors influencing the credit supply.

Czech description
V příspěvku je provedena ekonometrická analýza úvěrové nabídky na českém bankovním trhu v období 1994-2005. Aplikace standardního modelu se ukázala v českých podmínkách jako zavádějící a nelze tak jednoznačně určit hlavní determinanty nabídky úvěrů.
