The article presents questionnaire research related to the EU awareness and to the entering the EU by Turkey, and its evaluation. The questionnaires were distributed to the students of School of Business Administration in Karviná, Silesian University inOpava, the Czech Republic in spring 2008. The goal of the research is not only linked to numerous discussions concerning Turkey´s accession to the EU and its obstacles, threats related to the loss of Turkish national identity, negative attitudes of someEuropean countries, but the paper also attempts to find out what Czech students´ opinions about entering the EU, and its consequences and benefits are.

Článek prezentuje dotazníkový výzkum týkající se povědomí o EU a vstupu Turecka do EU, a jeho vyhodnocení. Dotazníky byly distribuovány studentům OPF SU v Karviné na jaře 2008. Cíl výzkumu nevyplývá pouze z četných diskusí o vstupu Turecka do EU, o překážkách tohoto vstupu, ohrožení národní identity, negativním postoji některých evropských zemí, ale výzkum je především zaměřen na zjištění názorů českých studentů na vstup Turecka do EU, jeho důsledky a výhody.
