Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is traditionally the sphere of the corporate sector but recognition of the growing importance of the Small and Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) sector leads to emphasize their social and environmental impacts. CSR has been a frequent subject of research interest in large companies, but SMEs in this area was neglected. This paper investigates the degree of use (application) CSR among Czech SMEs. The random companies were chosen as the sample of CSR in SMEs. The aim of this study is to progress understanding of the opportunities or limitations for CSR in SMEs and evaluate the current status. Key areas of investigation were motivating factors, benefits and barriers in the commitment to CSR, identification of key stakeholders, the essence of CSR activities in the areas of primary and possible future challenges.
