Original language description
The institution "European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation" is the latest instrument of the European Union to support cooperation of border areas. The objective of this paper is to examine the potential of functioning of European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Tritia and to find out main differences between EGTC Tritia and Eurométropole Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai, which is considered to be the model of cross-border cooperation among Member States of the European Union. Besides comparison, the methodof SWOT analysis of key areas of cooperation of Tritia regions will be used, on the basis of which the potential of this grouping will be found out and possibilities of its aiming will be proposed.
