The contribution deals with the issue of the significance of the road infrastructure. General context are examined in a specific regional environment. Paper based on the dissertation "the Importance of logistics infrastructure in the border area of the Moravian-silesian region" [1] and the project SGS 20/2014 "Analysis of the business environment in the region Karviná" at the Silesian university in Opava, school of business faculty in Karviná, where they were proved by the context and the links betweenthe quality of road infrastructure and business activities, on the basis of which it would be possible to provide recommendations for further routing of the development of road infrastructure in the region.
