The contribution refers to dealing with dangerous offenders with dissocial personality disorder or mental disorder (sexual aggressors, dangerous psychopathic offenders, insane offenders, repeated violent offenders etc.). It brings findings of the study into the implementation of the institute of security detention in the Czech Republic as a part of a research ?Violent Sex Crime? (VG20122014084), explains different legal and practical problems and describes the way of its application through the analysesof the full sample of the offenders under the security detention. It also presents results of public opinion poll on this new measure.
