Biotechnology research in flax and linseed was initialised together with new breeding methods development. Various heritable variations from standard phenotype were found in material after insertion mutagenesis. Influence of various factors on anther culture were studied. Protocol of flax double haploid production was established. The microsatellite markers for discrimination and identification of flax and linseed cultivars are developed
