The organization and the results of the breeding work in the Czech Republic and also the suggestions of cooperation possibilities in Europe in the framework of the WG1 activities are presented. The work is focused on dealing with flax genetic resources,their evaluation, description, maintenance and utilizing for breeding work as well as on the breeding targets and aims in the Czech Republic and also on the ways of breeding based on the traditional and biotechnological methods.
