In the course of 2005 and 2006 the chosen eight varieties (SU-BT, Mistral, Merlin with decreased tannin contents and SU 5/13, Merkur, Stabil, Melodie, Divine with high tannin contents) of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) with declared different tannin contentswere evaluated within the meaning of their levels of infestations caused by broad bean weevil (Bruchus rufimanus Boheman). There were found out significant differences in the levels of the seed infestations caused by the pest among the varieties. The most infested varieties in both years years of assessment were SU-BT (signuificant difference in 2005, 2006) and Divine (signuificant difference in 2006). The varieties with the lowest levels of infestation in both years were Merkur and Melodie. However theexistence of a clear relationship between the tannin content and the level of seed infestation was not proved.

Vztah mezi obsahem taninů v generativních orgánech několika porovnávaných odrůd bobu (Vicia faba L.) a úrovní napadení jejich semen zrnokazem bobovým (Bruchus rufimanu bohemian).

Během let 2005 a 2006 bylo v polních podmínkách hodnoceno osm vybraných odrůd (SU-BT, Mistral, Merlin se sníženým obsahem tanninů a SU 5/13, Merkur, Stabil, Melodie, Divine s vysokým obsahem tanninů) bobu (Vicia faba L.) lišících se obsahem tanninů v generativních orgánech z hlediska rozdílů v napadení jejich semen zrnokazem bobovým (Bruchus rufimanus Boheman). Byly zaznamenány významné rozdíly v napadení jednotlivých odrůd sledovaným škůdcem. Nejvíce napadené odrůdy v obou letech hodnocení byly SU-BT (signifikantně vyšší napadení v letech 2005, 2006) a Divine (signifikantně vyšší napadení v roce 2006). Odrůdy v obou letech nejméně napadené byly Merkur a Melodie. Nebyl však zjištěn jednoznačný vztah mezi úrovní napadení semen a obsahem tanninů v generativních orgánech u porovnávaných odrůd.
