Original language description
Biopolymers and composites based on both pristine and modified potato starch and montmorillonite were prepared and characterized. Comparison of their mechanical properies (tensile strength; elongation at break) documented the negative influence of starchsubstitution on the material strength as well as on retrogradation of the starch matrix during its ageing. On the contrary, clay presence in all composites generally improves the material properties.
