    There are large discrepancies among the values of the surface tension of water reported in the literature. Existing experimental data have been carefully selected for the surface tension at 20oC and 25oC, and the average and standard deviations of the measured values have been calculated Values slightly different from recommended values have been found in other papers. The objective was to obtain the most reliable data for the surface tension of water at the reference temperatures.
