Systematic support for the design of assembly jigs
Original language description
Rationalization and optimization of production processes provides manufacturing enterprises increased work efficiency and quality of products. there are many techniques and methodologies to carry out these activities. The activities include designing the layout of workplaces, material flows during manufacturing, warehousing and so on, which is principally the work of industrial engineers. They design how the workplace will look, what activities will be performed there, who will perform them and other necessary elements for the proper functioning of the workplace and the entire production system. An integral part of most workplaces, without which the workplace cannot work at all, or inefficiently, are technical products, which include primarily jigs (for assembly, inspection, machining, etc.), single purpose machines, manipulators, tools and other manufacturing equipment. Technical design of these products is accompanied by many risks and requires close cooperation between a number of professions, ranging from design engineers, industrial engineers and also the production operators who will subsequently work with these technical products. From a wide range of potential technical products, we decided to investigate jigs, namely assembly jigs for production workstations. This article describes the methodology for the design of these products and the risk analysis associated with their design. The aim is to deploy them in a production process meeting all the necessary requirements for such equipment, and for production operators to use these products for high quality, fast and error-free assembly.
