Optimization of the induction heating in the cold crucible by measuring and modeling
Original language description
This contribution builds on our previous publications which were focused on optimization of the segmented cold crucible (CC). The first part of this paper briefly describes the data acquisition system which we developed especially for our induction devices. Our motivation to create this system was a need to study the influence of cold crucible during the induction heating process and to verify our numerical models of induction systems. The second part of the article is focused on measuring and numerical modelling of inductors with simplified models of the CC with 22 mm steel load (calorimeter). We used 4 simplified models of the CC with different numbers of tubes (24, 30, 38 tubes and 24 tubes with connection which simulates bandage) which consist only of copper tubes and 3D printed collector (our own construction). We use cold crucibles with water cooled steel load. The final part of this paper compares the results (heat power losses) obtained by measuring and numerical simulation.
