Optimisation criteria of the power transmission in a single-phase system in non-sinusoidal conditions are described. These criteria are applied to design passive compensator. A numerical solution is presented by means of example of the single-phase circuit sinusoidal source - nonlinear load. Optimisation was based on the genetic algorithms.
