Comparative Study Of Variable Speed Drives In Power Systems; Part 2: Metodology Of Drive Design
Original language description
This report is a second part of series of reports dealing with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) particularly intended for high-power pumps and fans. The area where these VSDs are employed is very large. This report, as in the first part, exactly focuses on particular applications of boiler feed pumps and flue exhausters placed at power and heating plants. The attention is paid to basic considerations needed to be provided before the drive calculations start, to the question of operational diagram and also to the drive design calculations with respect to available drive parameters and operators demands. All considerations will be provided for VSDs with hydrodynamic coupling and frequency converter as a most perspective systems at present. The aim of this report is to summarize drive design considerations with respect to available data from operators and mainly efficiency point of view. What is more, the calculation procedures, described in this report, are used by developed sw tool.
