Original language description
The broadband external electro-optic modulating unit shall serve as a vital part of electro-optic remote-antenna system that is under the development at our department. The modulating unit shall be based on integrated intensity electro-optic modulator ofMach-Zehnder type. An accurate adjustment of optimal operating point of the modulator belongs to the most severe problems linked with implementation of appliance like this. The paper explains behaviour of the intensity electro-optic modulator and presents the methodology that has been used to measure parameters of modulator that are not specified in the manufacturer data-sheet and might be helpful to solve the problem.
