Flicker Perceptibility Analysis for Photovoltaic Power Sources in Distribution Networks

  • Original language description

This paper deals with problems of short-/long-term flicker perceptibility in distribution power systems. Based on many previously performed investigations concerning flicker generation by photovoltaic power sources, flicker does not reach such high values as in the case of wind power plants and other facilities, where voltage fluctuations during their operations are substantial. However, when connecting a new photovoltaic power source to the system, flicker perceptibility must be still evaluated. Therefore, the task of the Authors was to perform on-site measurements on photovoltaic power sources with different power outputs connected to various energy supply points of the Czech distribution network for the assessment of flicker conditions. Based on accomplished measurements, the necessity of flicker perceptibility evaluation will be further discussed.
