    Polymer materials are the preferred insulating materials for several electrical applications due to their ease of production, light weight and low cost. Modification of basic resin by nanofillers brings another possibility how to modify and improve parameters of these materials, which are widely used in the field of power engineering, especially for insulating systems of electric machines. Polymer nanocomposite exhibit a number of desirable dielectric properties, like increased resistance to partial discharge or a decreased intake of space charges, relative permittivity and dissipation factor. Therefore, novel polymer synthetic nanocomposite DGEBA-Laromin-TEOS was synthesized in order to investigate potential improvement of electrical properties of epoxy resin on addition of Si nanofiller.
