The influence of power balancer on the electricity meter results in residential houses with photovoltaic power plant
Original language description
Many small photovoltaic power plants (PVPP) exists on the roofs of family houses in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic state legislation for such a photovoltaic power plants emphasis on-site consumption of generated energy. To force the power plant owner for such behavior the Distribution System Operator (DSO) charges for energy supplied to house 10 times more in comparison with energy supplied by photovoltaic power plants to the distribution grid. Described situation leads to high effort to consume all generated energy in-house and this is reached by using device called or Power Balancer (PB) which ensures fast switching of appropriate house appliances. This fast loads control brings fast changes in energy flow direction and if such changes are timed properly this could lead to situation when eJectricity meter (EM) shows no energy flow in any direction. The paper describes functionality of Power Balancer, internal functionality of electronic electricity meters and describes the results of onsite measurement.
