  • Original language description

This paper addresses rouletted decoration, a distinctive decorative style featuring numerous patterns typical of late medieval to Early Modern ceramics in the Czech lands. Rouletting was widespread in the regions of south and west Bohemia. The aim of this paper is to outline the changes in the development of rouletted styles during the transition from the late medieval to the Early Modern period, using evaluated pottery assemblages from archaeologically investigated sites and various social contexts. The relationships between rouletting and ceramic wares and vessel forms are examined, as are the spatial distribution of specific patterns from pottery workshops and identical patterns across various sites. For comparative study, the statistical method of correspondence analysis is employed, along with GIS for spatial analysis.
