Original language description
The interdisciplinary art and music conference, held on November 1, 2024, at the Faculty of Education, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, Charles University, addressed the revision of the Framework Education Programme for Basic Education (RVP ZV) in the field of Arts and Culture. Experts and educators expressed concerns regarding the integration of Visual Art Education with Film and Audiovisual Education and Music Education with Drama and Dance Education. The conference facilitated discussions on maintaining the integrity of visual art and music education while integrating other artistic disciplines. Key topics included curriculum development, interdisciplinary art comparatistics, and digital and audiovisual literacy. The debate highlighted the necessity of preserving core arts education disciplines, ensuring equal access to quality education, and fostering critical and creative thinking. The conference proceedings will be published in a professional monograph, structured around three thematic areas: Curriculum and Educational Content of Arts Education, Artistic Comparison, and Digital and Audiovisual Literacy.
