Analytic hierarchy process and weight generation for inconsistent interval comparison matrices by eigenvalue method
Original language description
Paper presents a method for generation of weights used in AHP to support multiple criteria decision making. If an AHP interval comparison matrix is consistent then well-known LP method is used effectively for generation of corresponding criteria weights. However, in case of inconsistent interval comparison matrices the problem of weight generation is much more difficult. An approach based on consistency index is widely used in such case. Our procedure constructs a suitable measure of consistency as a relation between consistency index and some spectral characteristics depending on right eigenvector of comparison matrix. Numerical experiments with various interval comparison matrices are presented in detail.
