    The paper deals with the significance and application of the current loyalty programmes and their specific features in the Czech Republic. When creating loyalty programmes it is advisable to respect principles of such a concept and namely consider the target market, or, as the case may be, the target customer. Basic classification of loyalty programmes according to their specializations is also presented. The representatives of successful and unsuccessful loyalty programmes in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in the world are mentioned as well.
